A very fine Japanese Katana signed YukiMitsu with authenticity certificate stating the sword was made by Yukimitsu of Kashu. Koto period circa 1300 to 1500. Having good original polish and pleasing shape. As with all good quality swords from this period a fine visible hamon is evident with intact boshi. The blade is adorned with very desirable double Hi (grooves), Horimono (carved decorations on the blade). The scabbard is a Shirisaya (wooden scabbard) this being for the storage of the sword to help prevent rusting. Blade length 71.0 cm.
