A large and impressive carved wood figure of a Bodhisattva, Ming/Qing dynasty or later, standing wearing a long wide sleeved robe falling in heavy folds to the bare feet, the left arm lowered the right held out to the front, the head slightly lowered with well defined features and the hair partly falling in tresses over the shoulders, a high pierced diadem centred with a seated Amitaba Buddha encircling the high chignon, traces of lacquer, gilding and coloured pigments, 149 cm high
