The Peninsular & Oriental Company: A dilapidated leather-bound presentation album, circa 1887, which contains 21 large format (27 x 37 cm) photographic prints on Ilford Bromide paper. The images represent views of some of the newest P.&O. ships, their crews, public rooms, etc. The photo plates are laid down on thick card pages which are backed by lithographic prints of advertisements for comapnies and suppliers associated with the company: Twining & Coy., National Bank of Egypt, Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corp., Royal Exchange Assurance, Thos. Cook & Son, etc. (sold as a collection of photographs).
