A late Victorian mahogany serpentine chest of drawers, by Morison & Co, Edinburgh, in the George III style, with a 3/4 pierced brass gallery, having two short and two long drawers with moulded fronts flanked by blind fretwork, on ogee bracket feet, height 84 cm, width 110 cm, depth 55 cm. Other Notes: Morison & Co. Were cabinet-makers and upholsterers established by Mathew Morison in Ayr, Scotland in the early 19th century. The business was sold to W. Turner Lord and Co. Of London, in 1902 who continued to use it as a trading name, and in 1906 was commissioned to fit out most of the first-class accommodation of the of the Cunard liner Mauretania, condition: overall in good condition, having wear and surface dirt consistent with age, use and a certain amount of neglect.
