A Collection of six arm and waist ornaments, Malaita, Solomon Islands. Orchid-pattern is one name for a kind of patterned band (obi gwaroa) worn on the upper arm, which is plaited from shreds of vine-strip and then patterned by embroidering with shreds of yellow orchid and often also of red coconut cuticle.
