Rare broad shield, Murray River, New South Wales. Of flatten leaf-like form, flaring rectangular points at each end, pierced twice near the centre with cane handle attached, front with deeply incised, linear, zig-zig and lozenge motifs divided into sections by undecorated bands, the undecorated reverse with roughly hewn marking, restoration to one side, dark shiny patina overall.
