This telescope is presented to Lt. Richard Percy Nisbet, D.S.C., R.N.R. by Payr. Commander Percy Nisbet, V.C. Rn.V.R. January 1925', in original box with small photo of East India ship 'Essex' of which Richard Nisbet was Commander. The Essex was a vessel from the Federal Steam Navigation Co., built in 1936 and sailed in Nz waters
