An impressive large Victorian Arts & Crafts silver mounted wooden bowl, 1878 London, with maker's mark for Thornhill & Co (Walter Thornhill), the bowl with a single swollen handle, having a rivet joined silver rim and base, the handle handsomely decorated with a shaped and studded mount, throat and terminal cap; twice hallmarked, height 11.5 cm, diameter 24 cm.
