A refined sterling silver mounted lead crystal jewellery box, 1899 London, with maker's mark for Alfred Clark, retailer Clark of Bond St, the waisted rectangular box of slightly cushion form having an intaglio cut silver mounted lid featuring two chickens squawking at a snail on a branch, enclosed by a silver wave form border and a rolled scroll clasp, the rim with a silver colonnade border, crisply hallmarked to interior rim, height 8 cm, length 14 cm, width 11.5 cm.
