A Chinese export lacquerware games box, Qing Dynasty, circa 1820s, the octagonal box decorated throughout with figures engaged in activities and entertainments in imaginary pavilion and pleasure garden settings, the interior with four boxes containing game pieces and tokens in ivory and mother-of-pearl, playing card trays with symbol and 'Pip' motifs, and two fine shibayama-type whist counters, height 15 cm, length 38 cm, width 31 cm.
