Souvenir photograph album of the Kyoto Sericulture [Silk] training school, Japan, 1938. Large quarto album (320 x 270 mm), original custom binding of black velvet covered boards, the upper board with title in German, stamped in gilt 'Seidenzucht Hochschule zu Kioto / 1938', with original silk ties and containing approx. 200 silver gelatin photographs in various formats tipped-in; the majority with accompanying text in Japanese. (Nb, a few photographs have been removed.).
