Lawrence, Thomas Edward (1888 - 1935) seven pillars of Wisdom, a triumph. [London; Jonathan cape, 1935. First trade edition.] Deluxe edition, limited to 750 numbered copies; this being #459. Quarto, quarter pigskin over brown buckram with crossed swords and motto 'The sword also means clean-ness, death' in gilt to front panel; spine lettered in gilt (somewhat scuffed); marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, other edges uncut; 672pp; numerous plates and folding maps. Prior to the publication of this edition there had been only privately printed editions for friends and subscribers in 1922 (only 8 copies) and 1927 (211 copies).
