A rare cased coroner's instrument set manufactured by John Weiss & Son, brass bound mahogany case, shaped and fitted interior to hold the selection of specialist instruments including a Charriere's double saw for the spine. Many pieces with moulded horn handles (some with slight insect damage). The case with maker's name and address: 62, Strand, London (dating to 1841-1885). 38.5 cm x 27.5 cm x 8.5 cm.
