A finely carved late 19th century German limewood carved lidded urn, of campana shape carved in high relief to the rim with a garland of roses, tulips and acanthus, a frieze in low relief encircles the body and unfurling acanthus supports the base. The lid with an octagonal finial that conforms to the base. Purchased from Portobello Antiques (John Mains) in the 1990s. Height 28 cm
