A beautifully sculptured Egyptian mummy mask, New Kingdom, 19th to 21st Dynasty, circa 1292 to 1069 B.C. Belonging to a female, due to the colour. The face with remnant gesso and black pigment details on the eyes. Made from a mix of Nile mud and straw as a bonding agent, the reverse with wooden nails used to affix the mask to the sarcophagus. The mask 19 cm high, 16.5 cm wide, 6.5 cm deep. Total height including stand 32.5 cm
