A rare 18th/19th century Godstick, whakapakoko atua, carved as a human figure with wheku face with protruding tongue and deeply set eyes. Decorated with notched ridge (rauponga) and spiral (pakura) designs, the ears unusually pierced, probably for the attachment of feathers the figure with hands placed beside a protruding abdomen. The reverse with notched spine possibly associated with genealogy. Long 29 cm
