A green-glazed pottery 'hill' jar and cover, Han dynasty of cylindrical form supported on three bear-form feet, the straight sides moulded with a frieze of various mythical animals in a continuous landscape setting, the domed cover with further animals and immortals climbing among the cresting mountain peaks, all beneath the dark green glaze, the interior and base covered in a chestnut glaze, fitted box 19.5 cm diameter.
