A Moricand & Co. Gold quarter repeating single case watch, quarter repeating mechanism at press of stem. The face with enamel dial, Roman chapter ring and outer Arabic ring for the minutes, signed at centre Moricand & Compagnie, gilt hands with seed pearl hands, with winding hole. The case reverse with a central floral cartouche of seed pearl and red gem set against an emerald green guilloche ring before a floral border of enamel and pearl. The front bezel with seed pearl border. Swiss, circa 1780-1800. Diameter: 45 mm. Provenance: Sotheby's, Geneva 12th May 1988, lot 66, the collection of Dr Trevor Hyde, Sydney, acquired from the above
