A miniature commemorative tortoiseshell music box, the lid decorated with a battle scene commemorating the battle of Grochow, 25th February 1831. The movement stamped 'H Mg' and numbered 2251. Width 9.5 cm, depth 6 cm, height 3.5 cm. Provenance: The collection of Dr Trevor Hyde, Sydney. Condition: Professional antique restorations evident on close inspection to front right edge of the top and rear left corner of the base, and at the hinges. Presents beautifully.
