An 18th/19th century portrait miniature reputedly of the William and Hester Pitt, the Earl and Countess of Chatham finely painted on ivory. In ornate gilt metal frame under glass, 7.5 x 5 cm. Note: William Pitt, 1st Earl of Chatham, Pc, Frs (1708-1778) was a British statesman of the Whig group who served as Prime Minister of Great Britain in the middle of the 18th century.
