Engraving, title and 'Eastgate, sc.', engraved in plate below image, 15.5 x 20 cm., text continues 'D'Entrecasteaux.', this image is an English copy of one of the first, detailed engravings of a black swan by French, artist Jacque Louis Peree (1769-1803), who travelled with Antoine Bruni d'Entrecasteaux, in search of explorer La Perouse.
