An 1855 Tasmanian land Grant by purchase, October 1855 land grant to Frederick green of a 4 acre Township allotment in York town, van Diemen's land, signed and sealed by the Governor, Sir Henry Edward fox young. (the price of £16/10/- is detailed in manuscript and a map illustrating the grant is shown at left, also signed by William Henty, Colonial Secretary. 35 x 60 cm., Green's beach (and the later Green's beach Road), are associated with this family. York town was one of the earliest settlements in Australia, established in 1804, but largely abandoned in 1809 for George town and Launceston.
