Footscray: The central portion of a proposed 1954 Weg premiership poster showing the Bulldog, with Weg's signature in image lower right, size 41 x 50 cm. Extremely Rare. This image is closely related to the image eventually used for the rare issued poster, the first of Weg's iconic premiership posters. In the issued version, the dog has the year '1954' printed across his upper jaw and between his teeth he holds a huge bone labelled 'Premiers'. This example of the unadopted design is only the second example known to us. We sold the first example in our February 2012 auction for $5400 (including Bp).
