The Football Record: 1965 editions for 9 Home-and-Away Rounds, with 6 featuring St.Kilda, Also, the Interstate Match (Victoria v South Australia) and the Special editions for the 1965 1st Semi-Final (Geelong v Essendon), the 2nd Semi-Final (Collingwood v St.Kilda), the Prelim. Final (Collingwood v Essendon) and the Grand Final (Essendon v St.Kilda). (14 items). St. Kilda finished the Home-and-Away Season in Top position on the ladder, with 14 wins, and 4 losses. Essendon, who went on to win the Premiership finished in 4th position with 12 wins and 6 losses. Essendon 14.21 (105) won the Grand Final over St.Kilda 9.16 (70) in front of 104,846 fans. St.Kilda centreman, Ian Stewart won the Brownlow Medal and his team appeared in a Grand Final for the first time since 1913.
