c.1940 monochrome press photograph of VIC Patrick shadow boxing, 16.5 x 12 cm. [Vic Patrick was an oyster farmer who took up boxing in 1940 to earn extra money. He won his first 18 bouts, 17 by knockout, going on to capture the Australian lighweight title in 1941 and the Australian welterweight title in 1942. In 2003 he was inducted into the Australian National Boxing Hall of Fame.]
