A Gibson 'Wes Montgomery' custom L-5 arch top hollow body electric jazz guitar, cherry, 2004, American made, serial number 23093001, carved solid spruce top, laminated flamed maple back and sides, five-ply binding to body neck and headstock, five piece laminated flamed maple neck, ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays, gold-plated '57 Classic humbucker, Gibson branded tulip machine heads, Art Deco tailpiece with 'L-5' and 'Wes Montgomery' etchings, mother of pearl 'Gibson' insignia and flower pot inlay to headstock, original branded hard case with burgundy crushed velvet interior. Other Notes: Undoubtedly one of the most influential instrumentalists of the 20th century, Wes Montgomery single handedly re-invented the framework of Jazz guitar. During the prodigious players most prolific years, the instrument that carved his revolutionary approach to phrasing was the Gibson L-5.
