Description:
A rare Royal Worcester Australian flowers cup and saucer, gilt interior, handle and central saucer reserve. Painted with flowering wattle branches, signed Delia Cadden, printed puce factory marks, date sequence for 1911, impressed mark '9k'. Other Notes: Delia Cadden was born in Ascot, Victoria. In 1907-8 she studied china painting under J. A. Peach at the Sydney Technical College and continued her studies in the Art Department until 1911. She exhibited in the 1907 women's work exhibition of Melbourne. Between 1912-17 she exhibited with the NSW Society of Arts & Crafts. Cadden, a china painter of considerable ability, decorated vase, tea and coffee sets, plates, wall plaques and buttons.
