A Victorian glass bottom sterling silver tankard, the body with incised repeating pattern to top and base, raised beaded decoration, engraved 'From Walter Scott of Walallong, Australia', maker Joseph & Edward Bradbury, registration mark, hallmarked London 1871. Other Notes: Walter Scott was an early settler, surgeon, public servant and magistrate in the lower hunter valley. In 1843 his nephew, also called Walter Scott, emigrated from Scotland and became his uncle's manager at Wallalong and later his heir. Wallalong house was retained by the Scott family until 1995.
