A stylish Arts & Crafts German 800 silver candelabrum, by Emmy Roth, circa 1930, the lovely and beaten silver candelabrum with a stylized fluted stem with a central sconce, emanating three curved arms, marked 800 with facsimile signature, approximately 1402 gms silver, 45 cm high, 40 cm wide. Provenance: Private Collection, Melbourne. Other Notes: Emmy Roth was a German female silversmith, who was heavilly influenced by the Bauhaus movement and often featured contemporary architectural models in her designs. A famous example of this is her 1927 sugar castor, which was modelled on the Einstein tower. This candelabrum is reminiscent of that earlier design.
