An Egyptian miniature bronze sarcophagus, late period (XXVI- XXX Dynasty), circa 664-332 B.C, the bronze sarcophagus modelled for an ichneumon (mongoose). The mongoose was sacred in Egyptian religion and symbolized underworld spirits. It was revered for its ability to kill snakes. 2.8 cm high, 6 cm wide, 2 cm deep.
