An extinct female adult stout legged moa skeleton display, the moa (Euryapteryx Curtus) skeleton principally from the one bird found c.1970s in a drained swamp on a private farm on the Tokorau Peninsula by the vendor and his father. Mounted on a Perspex rod with jeweller's wire and on a kauri base, with remains of an egg. Height 74 cm. Note: The stout-legged moa, was a mid-sized bird at home in forest fringes and scrublands. Females weighed about twice as much as males.
