A 19th century tortoiseshell miniature music box, the hinged lid set with a panel finely painted in oils on ivory leaf depicting a Bedouin and stallion standing before a pyramid and distant view of Cairo, the turbaned figure armed with scimitar, musket and pair of holstered pistols. The clockwork mechanism marked Aubert & Fils to the 67 note comb playing on a 6 cm cylinder. 10 x 6.5 x 3.8 cm
