A Henry Winkelmann vintage photograph, 'Doreen, Victoria Cruising Club Race, 20 January 1915', vintage photograph, signed, illustrated 'Winkelmann's Waitemata' by Elliott, Kidd & Rodney Wilson, reprinted 2005, illustrated page 66 and noted 'Doreen was built for M. Perkins who raced her from 1913 right through the war years... In this magnificent photo, we once again see the brute power of the mullet boat type. The skipper has two hands on the tiller to stop Doreen from taking charge as she bolts downhill leaving a massive stern wave. She has just buried her nose a touch and a huge weight of water is being forced out under the bow'. 40 x 55.5 cm, in original oak frame under glass.
