Rare and important 19th century French Collectors cabinet by Francois Linke, in Louis XVI taste, in kingwood, tulipwood and harewood, with a hinged vitrine top, with thumb molding and ormolu border, above a door with quarter sawn herringbone veneer and stringing to exterior and interior, the door set with fine ormolu mount in the form of garlands suspending horns, mandolin, sheet music and flowers from a ribbon, the door opening to sliding shelves, the whole upon tapered fluted supports with ormolu mounts united by a quarter sawn veneer shelf with pierced gallery, the whole on tapered feet, signed F. Linke in ormolu and stamped underside of lock CT_LINKE// Serrurerie// Paris and impressed 2479, 110 cm x 51 cm x 38 cm note: Francois Linke is the most highly regarded and sought after cabinet maker of the 19th and 20th century.
