A Chinese Yixing Zisha Fencai teapot, Jiaqing period (1796-1820), the ovoid form teapot of Yixing Zisha clay, covered in fencai decoration of birds and butterflies amongst scrolling peonies. With an impressed square seal mark to the base reading 'Huai de yi ji'. 12 cm high, 18 cm wide. One very small chip to the inner rim of the lid, and restoration to the tip of the spout.
