A Chinese Lonquan celadon charger, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), circa late 14th century, decorated with an impressed peony surrounded by carved scrolling foliage and flowers, covered in an even celadon glaze. Unglazed ring within the footrim with remnant cylindrical pontil mark. 6.5 cm high, 35 cm diameter. Some wear to the glaze, most significantly stacking wear to the centre. Approximately 2815 gm weight.
