A Tekke Turkoman 'Kurteh' embroidered coat, circa 1900, the young married woman's deep green silk coat with geometric embroidery in madder red, yellow and white on a black cotton ground to the collar and sleeves. Approximately 108 cm high, 140 cm wide (arms outstretched). Provenance: Nomadic rug Traders, Sydney, 2001 (original invoice included). Small areas of wear, no losses.
