A Japanese Shigaraki Ko Tsubo, Edo period (1603-1868), circa 17th century, the ovoid stoneware jar with beautiful wabi kiln affects including feldspathic white spots, bubbling and blow-outs, the jar slightly uneven with concreted kiln waste to one part of the foot, and an ancient smoky patina. 37.5 cm high, 30 cm diameter. No visible damage, but with kiln faults as mentioned in the description
