A Japanese lacquer Suzuribako with Inkstone and Suiteki, Meiji period (1868-1912), the clear and red lacquered wooden box embellished with gold scrolling plum blossoms, the interior fitted with brush trays, rectangular gilded inkstone and bronze suiteki (water dropper). Together with tomobako (original signed wooden box). 3.5 cm high, 21.5 cm wide. Chip to the base of the ink stone. Minor splitting to some edges of the suzuribako lid.
