A Japanese Bizen ware Tokkuri, Edo period (1603-1868), early 19th century, of ovoid form with horizontal ribbing to the flattened sides, covered with a clear glaze with 'Goma' splashed glaze flecks around the shoulder. Provenance: the de Voogd collection, 25 cm high, 14 cm diameter. Two small chips to the ridges on the side of the vessel. No further faults or damage approximately 1242gms weight.
