A Chinese blue and white 'Three friends of Winter' dish, Daoguang seal mark and of the period (1821-1850), decorated to the interior with a roundel of pine, plum, bamboo, rocks and lingzhi fungus, the exterior decorated with a garden scene of boys playing under the watchful gaze of a seated lady. Six character mark for Daoguang to the base. Together with a 19th century fitted hardwood stand. 4 cm high, 18 cm diameter. Provenance: Leo Gordon Frost collection, and thence by decent. Condition: a chip the one side of the mouth rim. Otherwise no further visible faults or damage.
