Unusual early 19th century Japanese Arita porcelain charger, imitating Ming Chenghua, of circular form, with sloping sides, richly decorated with flower head and ferns, in gilt and red, on a teal coloured ground, six character mark to base, diameter 33.5 cm. Provenance: Mr Arthur Dolby Pedley (1856-1935), then by descent.
