A Balinese carved 'Keropok' offering figure of a Makara, 19th century, carved as a crouching mythical sea creature with a long snout, and elephant like tusks and a fish's tail, with wings, wearing elaborate jewels, with remanant polychrome and gilding. The back of the creature hollowed out with lid, 26.5 cm high, 52 cm long, 12.5 cm wide, some losses to decoration, chips, spines on top of the back of the head mostly broken, losses to polychrome and gilding, old borer holes visible, and associated losses, approximately 2605 gms weight.
