A fine and rare J. Sly early colonial cedar wing wardrobe Australian, Sydney, with 'J. Sly' impressed marks to rear panels, a very impressive master-crafted piece with excellent finish and rich colour. to a design based on G. Smith, (1808) and W. Smee & Sons, (1850) pages 52 and 56 Pictorial Dictionary of British 19th century Furniture Design, the left hand hanging cupboard encloses two drawers to the base with original bail ring pull handles, the right cupboard encloses one large drawer to the base with original bail ring pull handle. Panelled back. Locks and keys intact, fine antique condition, rich lustrous colour and patina. 240 cm wide, 55 cm deep, 215 cm high
