Alexander Mcleay, Colonial Secretary, April 1829, A printed document, titled 'Small Grant' signed by 'Alex Mcleay' and headed Colonial Secretary's Office, Sydney 22nd April, 1831 and addressed to John Francis Evan, confirms that Evan's request of the Governor for 'Sixty Acres of Land' has been agreed to 'in the County of Cook, Parish unnamed, at Kurrajong: bounded on the West by Smith's and Nash's Farms.' The details of the Crown's retained rights over water, creeks, mines of gold, silver and coals and the right to construct roads and bridges, make interesting reading.
