Laura Clifton was born in Fremantle W.A. in 1856, daughter to the renowned botanist George Clifton who had moved to Fremantle to take up a position with the newly formed Western Australia Water Police. After a period of some years George returned to England and assumed the position as Governor of the Portland Convict Establishment. 5 cm high.
