A rare N.Z. colonial Benhar pottery umbrella stand, the top flared section with relief moulded fine decoration above an open pierced basket weave body, the four broad feet with shaped ribbed highlights, one with some damage, rich brown glaze. Height 55 cm. Note: Illustrated and recorded in 'Pottery in N.Z.' by Gail Lambert 1985 as 'Made in Three Parts and Manufactured in the Brick and Tile Section of the Benhar Factory'.
