A large and impressive Meiji period Satsuma vase, ovoid with short trumpet mouth, hand painted in two large panels with geisha wearing extravagantly patterned kimono and attendants promenading in extensive lakeside gardens beneath flowering cherry blossom and wisteria. Each panel reserved on a cobalt ground embellished in gilt with over twenty mon designs scattered amongst conjoined hexagonal diaper and intricate tendrils. Marked Yasuda and signed under the base. Height 46.5 cm excluding wooden stand.
