Rare late 19th century Maori carved TiAnea (armchair) all over carved with tiki masks, manaia and takarangi spirals with paua shell inset eyes. The seat frame with linear, geometric decoration. Leather covering requires attention. Provenance: Ex John Gow folk art collection, Dunbar Sloane 2003. Formerly purchased from auction in England.
