The Football Record: Special editions for the 1944 1st Semi-Final (Footscray v Essendon), the 2nd Semi-Final (Richmond v Fitzroy) lacking covers, the Final (Richmond v Essendon) and the Grand Final (Richmond v Fitzroy). There is also a Football Record for a 'Charity Game' which featured teams from North of the Yarra (Fred Hughson of Richmond, captain) playing against a team from South of the Yarra (Jack Graham of South Melbourne, captain). (5). Mixed condition. Fitzroy defeated Richmond 9.12 (66) to 7.9 (51), in the Grand Final front of a crowd of 43,000 people.
